My name is Ryane
I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. I had a number of different breeds including German Shepherds and Great Danes. I started off training my German Shepherd “Max” off leash, when I was 8.
Knowing that I wanted to work in the animal business I thought about being a veterinarian for many years.
We moved to Virginia for about a year and then moved to Utah, where I started junior high. I still had the same love for animals especially dogs. I also was a vegetarian for 5 years during that time because of my love for animals.
I did the same training, with my heeler mix, “Tobi”. I was reading books and watching videos… everything I could
to get as much knowledge as possible. I schooled myself on all breeds, their origin and characteristics. I even studied all diseases, everything you can think of. I was reading it.
At the end of high school I moved out and got my own German Shepherd “Ryker”. I learned so much from him. When he was about a year old he had severe people aggression. He would attack and lunge at the fence when people walked by.
I contacted a local Dog Training Facility, and I really clicked with a trainer there. He was full of information and had an answer for everything. He informed me that they also do apprenticeships so I could learn how to become a professional trainer & behaviorist.
When I went in to meet with him he brought his German Shepherd out and was showing me all the possibilities, including the personal protection. I am sure my eyes lit up like light bulbs, I was sold....
That is the main reason I bring my dog to show all the training that is available. It helps the mind rap around “I want that” I want that bond with my dog, that 100 % trust and confidence in my dog, the training and our relationship, and hey, it’s fun. The bond it builds is amazing.
I started my apprenticeship and learned everything I could, I was on top of it…. and the compliments I got from other people, I “was a natural”. So I did book studying, hands on, and everything possible.
Ryker, the same dog that would attack fences and lunge at people turned into my “huge” baby, who loved to go to my kid’s elementary school and see all the kids. His joy was to go up into the playground at the park, and go down the slide right behind the kids.
There was such a confidence in his training that he would never NEED to be on a leash even in Petsmart or Lowes. He would heel, not stepping one toe out of the heel position no matter what, unless he was told.
RIP my wonderful boy Ryker-11/3/2001-12/18/2007
I have 3 beautiful great Danes that are the love of my life. Bao was a rescue that had SEVERE people aggression, I took him in to correct his behavior and decided almost right away that he belonged in our home. Iya is here because I loved Bao's "natural" temperament so much that I went with the same breeder and she has the best temperament and attitude anyone could ask for.
Hyro is the baby of the family, he is a sweet cuddly boy
……..To continue the story.... After my schooling was done I worked there for a while. I was there about a year until I decided I wanted to go out and start my own business.
I have owned my own business ever since 2002. I am very dedicated in helping people have a better relationship with their dogs and most of all to make happy dogs for people to enjoy.
I truly love it, it is my passion. Not only to be training people and dogs to have a better relationship, but to help make a better life for both of them.
I also partner up with another wonderful trainer that is a dear friend of mine, in owning a rescue to be able to help in all areas.
I try to make a difference, for the many animals that have to go to the shelters and be euthanized, simply because there was a miscommunication (if you will) in their relationship.
Let’s make a difference and a better life, whatever way we can.
